Job summary

SafeSplash South Plainfield is seeking a Deck Supervisor/Lifeguard/Instructor to oversee the pool area, ensure safety, and assist swimmers and instructors.

The role requires Red Cross Lifeguard certification, CPR/AED for all ages, and prior swim-instruction experience. You will enforce safety rules, respond to emergencies, and help maintain a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
• CPR/AED certification for adult, child, and swimmer.
• Experience in swim instruction is required.
• Ability to enforce safety rules and supervise swimmers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lifeguard on duty and observe pool area for safety.
• Enforce American Red Cross Lifeguard standards and safety rules.
• Assist swimmers and swim instructors as needed.
• Provide emergency care and treatment until EMS arrival.
• Prepare incident reports and document events.

What will you do as a Deck Supervisor/LifeGuard/Instructor?

• Serve as the lifeguard on duty.
• Responsible for observing and patrolling the pool area, enforcing safety regulations as outlined in American Red Cross Lifeguard standards
• Assist swimmers in and around the pool area as well as swim instructors, as needed
• Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Prepare and maintain appropriate incident reports.

What are we looking for in a Deck Supervisor/LifeGuard/Instructor?

• Maintain Red Cross Lifeguard certification, Red Cross CPR/AED certification for adult, infant and swimmer
• Previous swim instruction experience is required
• Must be able to successfully complete all lifeguarding prerequisites to American Red Cross standards
• The main focus of a swim instructor is to teach swimming skills in accordance with Streamline Brands curriculum in a fun, positive manner
• Provide continuous, positive corrective feedback to students and customers on their swimming efforts
• Structure class time appropriately to incorporate repetition, reinforcement, and introduction of required skills
• Ensure swimmer safety
