Job summary

SafeSplash South Plainfield is seeking a Deck Supervisor/Lifeguard/Instructor to ensure a safe, friendly swimming environment for members and guests.

You will guard the pool, enforce Red Cross standards, support swimmers and instructors, and help with incident reporting. Red Cross Lifeguard and CPR/AED certifications, plus swim-instruction experience, are required.

Qualifications

• Maintain Red Cross Lifeguard certification and CPR/AED certification for adult, infant and swimmer.
• Previous swim instruction experience is required.
• Must complete all lifeguarding prerequisites to American Red Cross standards.
• Swim instructor role focuses on teaching skills per Streamline Brands curriculum in a fun, positive manner.
• Provide continuous, positive corrective feedback to students and customers on swimming efforts.
• Structure class time to include repetition, reinforcement, and introduction of required skills.
• Ensure swimmer safety.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lifeguard on duty.
• Observe and patrol the pool area, enforce safety regulations as outlined in American Red Cross Lifeguard standards.
• Assist swimmers in and around the pool area as well as swim instructors, as needed.
• Provide emergency care and treatment as required until EMS arrives.
• Prepare and maintain appropriate incident reports.

What will you do as a Deck Supervisor/LifeGuard/Instructor?

• Serve as the lifeguard on duty.
• Responsible for observing and patrolling the pool area, enforcing safety regulations as outlined in American Red Cross Lifeguard standards
• Assist swimmers in and around the pool area as well as swim instructors, as needed
