Job summary

Qualifications

• Current YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification.
• ASHI BLS, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration certs (or equivalent).
• Must demonstrate swim instructor skills to YMCA standards.
• Must be at least 16 years old.

Responsibilities

• Instructs swimming lessons per YMCA guidelines using lesson plans.
• Builds relationships with students and parents; encourages involvement.
• Communicates program information and refers to other offerings.
• Attends orientation and required trainings.
• Maintains attendance and progress records.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
• Follows safety procedures and completes incident reports.
• Puts away equipment and reports damages.
• Supports COVID-19 safety measures.
• Assists supervisor with special projects.
