Job summary

The Goochland Family YMCA is seeking a part-time Swim Lesson Coordinator to supervise, implement and coordinate our swim lesson programs. Evening and weekend availability is required, with a pay range of $17-$19 per hour.

Responsibilities include leading aquatics staff, training, and ensuring a clean facility, while remaining flexible to fill in as needed. CPR/First Aid/AED, lifeguard certifications, and Oxygen Administration certification are required or pursued within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in an aquatics department.
• Lifeguarding experience required.
• Lead lifeguards through in-service scenarios.
• Degree in wellness or related field preferred.
• Proficient with computer and MS Office.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certifications current.
• YMCA/American Red Cross Lifeguard certs current or Ellis cert.
• Oxygen Administration certification within 30 days of hire.
• Lifeguard Instructor certification highly desired.

Duties of a Swim Lesson Coordinator

Swim lesson coordinators will assist in providing leadership to our aquatics staff. Some duties include managing and training staff and maintaining facility cleanliness. Coordinators should be results driven and able to build relationships with staff and members. Coordinators must be available to work up to 25 hours per week. Direct service is required as well as the flexibility to fill in as needed.

Qualifications Of a Swim Lesson Coordinator

Swim lesson coordinators must have a minimum of two years' experience in an aquatics department. Lifeguarding experience is required. Must be able to lead a group of lifeguards through in-service scenarios to assist the Aquatics Director. A degree in wellness or related field is preferred. Must be proficient with a computer and MS Office.

Must hold current CPR/First Aid/AED certifications as well as current YMCA/or American Red Cross Lifeguard/ or Ellis certification. Must hold or obtain within 30 days of hire Oxygen Administration certification. Lifeguard Instructor certification is highly desired.
