Job summary

The Patrick Henry Family YMCA in Ashland is seeking part-time swim instructors to lead swim lessons for program participants at our pool. The pay range is $15-$17 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

Qualified applicants will demonstrate enthusiasm, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with varied ages. CPR, AED and First Aid certifications are required; Lifeguard or YMCA swim instructor certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have current CPR, AED and First Aid certifications.
• Current YMCA, American Red Cross Lifeguard, or Ellis and YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor or WSI certifications are preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Lead swim lessons for program participants at the pool.

DUTIES for Swim Instructors

Swim instructors should be enthusiastic and energetic, with strong interpersonal skills. We are looking for swim instructors who have flexible work schedules and the ability to work with a variety of ages. Using tools and teaching techniques, swim instructors will work with small groups of participants teaching swimming skills, basic water safety, and the YMCA core values.

QUALIFICATIONS For Swim Instructors

Candidates must have current CPR, AED and First Aid certifications. Current YMCA, American Red Cross Lifeguard, or Ellis and YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor or WSI certifications are preferred but not necessary.
