Job summary

The Shady Grove Family YMCA is seeking part-time swim instructors to lead swim lessons for program participants at our pool. The pay range for this position is $15-$17 based on experience & qualifications.

Applicants should be enthusiastic and energetic, with strong interpersonal skills; and be able to work regular weekly hours with all ages. CPR/AED/First Aid certifications are required and other YMCA certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current CPR, AED and First Aid certifications are required.
• Lifeguard, YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor, or WSI certifications are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead swim lessons for program participants at our pool.
• Use varied teaching techniques to instruct small groups in swimming and water safety.

DUTIES for Swim Instructors

• We are looking for candidates who can work regular weekly hours with all ages.
• Using different tools and teaching techniques, swim instructors will work with small groups of students teaching swimming skills, basic water safety, and the YMCA core values.

QUALIFICATIONS for Swim Instructors

• Candidates must have current CPR, AED and First Aid certifications.
• Current YMCA, American Red Cross Lifeguard, or Ellis and YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor or WSI certifications are preferred but not necessary.
