Job summary

The Downtown YMCA in Richmond, VA is seeking part-time swim instructors to lead lessons at our pool. We value enthusiastic, energetic coaches who can cover a variety of shifts for participants of different ages. Applicants should hold CPR, AED and First Aid certifications; Lifeguard or YMCA/WIS certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications are required.
• Lifeguard or YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor or WSI certifications are preferred but not required.

DUTIES of a Swim Instructor

Applicants should be enthusiastic and energetic, with strong interpersonal skills. We are looking for swim instructors who can work a variety of shifts with a variety of ages. Using a variety of tools and teaching techniques, swim instructors will work with small groups of students teaching swimming skills, basic water safety, and the YMCA core values.

QUALIFICATIONS of a Swim Instructor

Candidates must have current CPR, AED and First Aid certifications. Current YMCA, American Red Cross Lifeguard, or Ellis and YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor or WSI certifications are preferred but not necessary.
