Job summary

City of Plymouth, MN is seeking a Swim Lead to provide instruction, guidance, and leadership to deliver safe, fun, and inclusive swimming programs for participants of varying ages and abilities. The role includes flexible shifts (day/evening/weekend, up to 29 hours/week) at Wayzata East and West Middle School pools, with training provided before start dates.

Qualifications

Must demonstrate strong communication skills.
Current First Aid and CPR certification is required or must be able to obtain.
Must demonstrate an interest in and ability to teach children.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, coordinate and direct swim activities and programs for participants of all ages and skill levels.
Provide support and assistance to participants and staff to promote a welcoming, inclusive environment.
Work collaboratively with instructors, lifeguards, recreation staff and supervisors to ensure safe, engaging and high‑quality programs for all participants.
Follow established staff policies, procedures, safety standards and guidelines, ensuring all staff and participants understand and follow them.
Provide a safe, fun and appropriate experience for all participants.
