Job summary

Robbinsdale Area Schools is seeking a Lead Water Safety Instructor to deliver high-quality swim lessons as part of the Community Education Aquatics team. The role involves supervising staff, teaching according to lesson plans, and maintaining safety and paperwork for each class.

The position offers evening and weekend shifts up to 12 hours per week, with competitive hourly wages. This is a casual/part-time role supporting Plymouth & Sandburg Middle Schools’ aquatics programming.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and maintain Red Cross WSI certification.
• Ability to work with people from various cultures.
• Excellent customer service and problem solving skills.
• Attend work regularly and report to work in a timely manner.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Red Cross CPR and First Aid certificates within two months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Teach swim lessons according to lesson plans.
• Coach WSI/WSA staff in instruction techniques.
• Direct and maintain control of class participants.
• Maintain accurate paperwork for each class.
• Communicate effectively with the public and staff.
• Maintain a safe pool environment.
