Job summary

The City of Plymouth is seeking a Water Safety Instructor to deliver engaging, safe swim lessons at our community pools. In this role you’ll educate participants, promote inclusivity, and help swimmers build confidence in a supportive environment. Flexible shifts include daytime, evenings and weekends, up to 29 hours per week.

Training is provided prior to program start dates; current WSI certification required. Locations: Wayzata East and Wayzata West Middle School Pools.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years old by program start date.
• Current Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct swim activities for participants of all ages and skill levels.
• Provide support to participants and staff to foster an inclusive environment.
• Collaborate with instructors, lifeguards, and staff to ensure high‑quality programs.
• Follow policies and safety guidelines so all participants understand and follow them.
• Provide a safe, fun and appropriate learning experience for all participants.
