Job Details:

Title: Swim Instructor

Reports to: Deck Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary: Instruct students on water safety and swim techniques based on the Goldfish curriculum.

Responsibilities:

• Provide swim instruction following curriculum
• Enforce safety rules, prevent accidents, and administer first aid when necessary
• Evaluate student progress and complete documentation
• Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress
• Use problem-solving skills to address challenges
• Inspect pool areas for maintenance and safety issues
• Maintain pool equipment and lane lines
• Report accidents and complete required paperwork
• Attend mandatory training sessions
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Experience as a lifeguard, youth sports instructor, camp counselor, or childcare provider is preferred. Swimming experience is a plus but not required. Certifications in Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid are preferred; paid classes are available.

Work Environment:

Work involves exposure to heat and humidity, with moderate noise levels.
