Job Details:

Title: Swim Instructor

Reports to: Deck Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary: Instruct students on water safety and swim techniques based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide swim instruction following the curriculum.
2. Enforce safety rules, prevent accidents, and administer first aid when necessary.
3. Evaluate student progress and complete required paperwork timely.
4. Communicate with parents/guardians about student development.
5. Act as a GSS ambassador to ensure parental satisfaction.
6. Use problem-solving skills to address student challenges.
7. Inspect pool areas for maintenance, cleanliness, or damage issues and report as needed.
8. Maintain and store pool equipment properly.
9. Report accidents/incidents and complete documentation.
10. Perform Deck Teacher duties and light cleaning tasks as needed.
11. Attend mandatory training sessions outside regular hours.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Experience as a lifeguard, youth sports instructor, camp counselor, or childcare provider is preferred. Passion for aquatics and swimming experience is a plus. Certifications in Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid are required; training provided upon hire.

Work Environment:

Exposure to heat and humidity, with moderate noise levels. Full-time schedule of 36+ hours annually, with benefits including PTO, paid holidays, and more after 90 days.
