Goldfish Swim School is seeking applicants for a Swim Instructor/Lifeguard in Norwood, MA.

Job summary:

The Swim Instructor is responsible for instructing students on water safety and proper swim techniques based on thorough knowledge of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.

Duties and responsibilities:

1. Provides one-on-one swim instruction with students based on the GSS curriculum.
2. Evaluates student progress and submits daily reports.
3. Acts as a GSS ambassador with parents/guardians on the development of students' swim skills.
4. Maintains and ensures proper storage of all pool equipment.
5. Promotes safety rules and regulations and follows reporting procedures.
6. As a Lifeguard, makes rescues and administers first aid/CPR when necessary.
7. Provides assistance to students and other teachers as needed.
8. Attends workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours.
9. Fulfills other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Employer.

Basic qualifications:

1. 16 years or older
2. Ability to work with children
3. No prior swim experience necessary but a willingness to work and learn is a must!

Preferred qualifications:

1. CPR/AED or Lifeguard certification, if you are not already certified it will be provided during training
2. Experience working as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider

Work environment:

Swim instructors spend the majority of their working time in the pool with students. While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
