Job summary

Goldfish Swim School Bedford is hiring a part-time Swim Instructor/Lifeguard in Bedford, NH. You will teach kids using our curriculum, keep the deck and pool safe, and help with progress notes and parent communication.

Responsibilities include monitoring swimmers, enforcing safety rules, completing required paperwork, and assisting with basic deck setup and light cleaning. Must be 15+ and CPR/AED/First Aid certified or willing to train.

Qualifications

• At least 15 years old.
• Comfortable working with children; strong communication and organization.
• Able to pass background examinations (included with training).
• Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certification required (paid training available if not certified).

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities include teaching lessons using the Goldfish Swim School curriculum, enforcing deck and pool safety rules, monitoring swimmers and responding to incidents with first aid when needed, tracking student progress and completing required paperwork, communicating clearly with parents/guardians, and helping with basic deck setup, equipment storage, and occasional light cleaning.

Required qualifications/skills:

A Typical Shift

You’ll arrive onsite, check the day’s class lineup, and get set for a warm, busy pool environment. Between lessons, you’ll reset lanes and gear, update quick notes on progress, and touch base with teammates to keep things running smoothly. You’ll spend time greeting families, answering simple questions, and helping create a calm, upbeat atmosphere—even when the deck gets loud.

At the end of your shift, you’ll wrap up documentation, return equipment to storage, and leave the space ready for the next group.
