Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor II in Alpharetta to teach group, private, and adaptive swim lessons across age groups. You will create lesson plans, provide feedback, and ensure a safe, inclusive learning atmosphere. Ability to lift equipment and assist volunteers is important.

Requirements include YMCA Swim Instructor certification, CPR/First Aid/AED, and other YMCA certifications within specified timelines. Prior teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong swimming skills and knowledge of strokes.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods for different learning styles and disabilities.
• Capable of lifting equipment and a small to average size child.

Responsibilities

• Instruct group, private, and adaptive swim lessons per YMCA guidelines.
• Create and implement age- and level-appropriate lesson plans.
• Provide constructive feedback to help students improve swimming skills.
• Maintain a safe, positive learning environment and manage student behavior.
• Maintain records such as attendance and progress reports.
