Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Swim Instructor II to teach swimming lessons across all ages and skill levels, fostering a safe, positive learning atmosphere and providing leadership and motivation for students in group, private, or adaptive settings.

Reporting to the Aquatics Director, the role includes creating lesson plans, teaching strokes and water safety, maintaining records, and supporting program participants while upholding YMCA policies and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• YMCA Swim Instructor certification required.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certifications required.
• Ability to teach group, private, and adaptive swim lessons.
• Must demonstrate YMCA-stated swim instruction standards.

Responsibilities

• Instruct swimming lessons for all ages and levels (group, private, adaptive).
• Create and implement lesson plans according to age and skill level.
• Teach swimming techniques, breathing, water safety, and stroke development.
• Provide feedback to help students improve and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Maintain attendance, progress records, and adhere to safety procedures.
