Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Swim Instructor II to teach swim lessons across age groups and skill levels in a positive, inclusive environment at the Cowart Family Ashford Dunwoody YMCA. Reporting to the Aquatics Director, you will design lessons, coach proper strokes, and promote water safety while supporting members and program participants.

You must hold YMCA Swim Instructor certification, CPR/First Aid/AED, and complete required trainings within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Requires YMCA Swim Instructor certification and CPR/First Aid/AED.
• Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills.
• E-Learning and leadership certifications required within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Instruct swimming lessons (group, private, or adaptive) for all ages according to YMCA guidelines.
• Create and implement lesson plans by age and level.
• Teach strokes, breathing, and water safety.
• Provide feedback to help students improve.
• Maintain safe and positive learning environment.
• Monitor student behavior and progress; maintain records.
