Job summary

City of Mason is seeking a part-time swim instruction instructor to provide supervised aquatic and water safety lessons for patrons in Mason, Ohio. You will lead instruction, supervise participants, and ensure safety according to department policies.

Ideal candidates are at least 16 years old, with preferred prior swim lesson experience. Training will be provided, including shadowing with an experienced instructor and flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Previous swim lesson instructor experience preferred.
• In-water and out-of-water training provided with shadowing by current instructor.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality instruction in water safety, swimming, and diving techniques within the program curriculum.
• Provide appropriate supervision to all participants.
• Ensure the safety of program participants.
• Prepare and maintain administrative records and paperwork as requested.
• Attend in-service training sessions and staff meetings as requested.
• Uphold the policies and procedures of the City of Mason and Parks & Recreation Department.
• Demonstrate knowledge of all emergency procedures throughout the recreational areas.
• Administer and record first aid/victim care within training level.
• Display knowledge of emergency procedures and safety protocols.
