Job summary

Gfoat is seeking a part-time swim instructor for the Monarch Recreation Center to teach lessons and support aquatic programming year-round across indoor and outdoor pools. You will deliver group and private instruction, adapt to different ages and abilities, and help with event programming.

The role requires a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, and a minimum age of 15 with a high school credential.

Qualifications

Must be at least 15 years old and currently enrolled in high school or have completed high school/GED.
Experience working with children or teaching in a group setting.
ARC Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification or ability to obtain before start date.
CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

Instruct swim lessons and water safety classes across programs and schedules.
Develop and implement daily lesson plans aligned with program standards.
Instruct participants in swimming techniques, water safety, and aquatic confidence.
Monitor progress and provide feedback to improve performance.
Adapt instruction for varying skill levels and learning styles.
Ensure safe use of aquatic facilities and equipment.
Communicate with participants, parents, and staff about progress and expectations.
Maintain attendance and progress records.
