Job summary

Goldfish Swim School in Ohio is seeking a patient, energetic Swim Instructor to bring our curriculum to life in the water. You’ll teach kids foundational water safety and stroke skills, build connections with families, and take ownership of each child’s progress.

As a part-time, non-exempt role, you’ll contribute to a positive, safety-focused environment, with opportunities to grow as you pursue Lifeguard certification and expand your coaching experience.

Qualifications

• Experience as lifeguard, youth coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider.
• Must be comfortable in water; swimming experience preferred.
• Willing to obtain Lifeguard certification.
• Available for evening and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver swim instruction with energy and focus on student growth.
• Enforce pool safety rules on the deck daily.
• Evaluate student progress and complete skill evaluations.
• Communicate progress with parents after lessons.
• Use problem-solving to help students progress.
• Maintain and store pool equipment properly.
• Assist with light cleaning duties as needed.
