Job summary

The City of McKinney is hiring a Swimming Instructor Aide to support the McKinney Swim School. You will help teach swimming lessons and ensure a positive, safe learning environment for participants.

New hires complete the Swimming Instructor Aide Training and may work under the Swimming Instructor to deliver lessons. Ability to assist diverse learners and follow city policies is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete the City of McKinney Swimming Instructor Aide Training Course once hired.
• Must be able to swim 25 yards in front crawl and back crawl with proficiency in several strokes.
• Must pass a background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Set up equipment for McKinney Swim School classes.
• Take class attendance and supervise students under instruction.
• Assist and instruct students while monitoring class safety.
• Demonstrate swimming strokes as needed.
• Work with participants needing extra support.
• Adhere to City policies and assigned schedule.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
