Job summary

Ymca Of Metropolitan Dallas is seeking a part-time swim instructor to teach classes, ensure safety, and motivate participants. You will prepare lesson plans, track progress, and maintain equipment in a welcoming YMCA environment.

Requirements include being 16+, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and YMCA Swim Instructor certification (or equivalent). Training and supervision by the Aquatic Director ensure quality instruction and participant safety.

Qualifications

• Age 16 or older.
• Current first-aid certification.
• CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
• YMCA Swim Instructor certification, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to teach the development of swimming skills.
• Instruct and observe participants in proper stroke techniques.
• Lift equipment and assist with lifting a small to average size child.

Responsibilities

• Instructs swimming lessons as assigned following YMCA guidelines.
• Develops positive relationships and provides motivational support.
• Maintain attendance and skill performance records.
• Enforce pool regulations promptly and courteously.
• Readiness for staff meetings and trainings.
• Follow YMCA policies and safety procedures.
