General Function

The Swim Instructor provides leadership, instruction, and motivation for students in swimming classes.

Education/Experience/Training/Certifications

• High school level education or equivalent (over 16+ years of age)
• CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid certification, and Emergency Oxygen
• Current YMCA Swim Instructor certification or training provided

$300 Signing Bonus!

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Instruct swimming lessons and prepare lesson plans according to YMCA standards
• Build effective relationships with parents and students, and communicate student progress
• Provide information on aquatics programs and schedules, referring students and parents as needed
• Maintain records and attend scheduled meetings and trainings
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Abilities & Skills

• Ability to instruct and observe proper stroke techniques
• Ability to lift equipment and small to average-sized children
