Job summary

Exos in San Bruno, CA is hiring swim instructors and lifeguard trainers to teach across levels, plan lessons, and maintain safety. You’ll evaluate progress, demonstrate skills, and communicate student growth to parents where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire.
• Current Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire.
• Prior experience lifeguarding or teaching swim lessons highly preferred.
• Pay transparency: compensation ranges from $52–$82/hour plus admin rates as required by local law.

• Plan lessons, select appropriate drills, and evaluate the student's progress
• Present proper demonstrations and explain skills, analyze and correct performance, minimize fear, and use appropriate teaching devices
• Maintain a safe and positive teaching environment
• Attend all in-service trainings
• Maintain accurate records and prepare course completion certificates
• Perform all swimming strokes and skills taught in all levels
• Effectively communicate each student's progress either to the student directly, or to the student's parents where appropriate
• Project and promote a professional image
• Explain and enforce facility regulations, policies, and procedures to patrons
• Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Prior experience lifeguarding or teaching swim lessons highly preferred
• Per pay transparency requirements, the compensation for this position ranges from $52 - $82/hour in addition to admin rates as required by local law. Pay is dependent on factors including site location, specialty, certifications, duration of class, and work experience as well as other business needs.
