Job summary

The Lafayette YMCA in Lafayette, CO is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor to lead engaging swimming lessons and ensure safety. Must be available Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings in June and July.

A +10% differential applies for bilingual staff fluent in Spanish and English. Responsibilities include delivering lesson plans, maintaining a positive atmosphere, and interacting with participants, parents, and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching swim lessons is not required but preferred.
• Proficient swimming and safety/rescue skills.
• Professional, alert, courteous, and tactful.
• Blood Borne Pathogens Training within 30 days of hire.
• YMCA Swimming Lessons Instructor and Red Cross Water Safety Instructor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Swim instructors are enthusiastic and portray a positive attitude.
• Relate positively to a variety of people including other staff, parents, and program participants.
• Instructors must be organized, and eager to teach (lesson plans provided).
• Other duties as assigned.
