Job summary

Littleton YMCA is seeking a Part-Time Swim Instructor to lead engaging swim lessons and foster a safe, inclusive learning environment at the Littleton location. You will help swimmers of all ages gain skills and confidence while embodying our core values.

The role offers flexible afternoons/evenings/weekends with support and training from a strong aquatics team and the opportunity for personal growth within the YMCA program.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Swim Lesson Certification required.
• CPR/AED and First Aid within 30 days of hire.

POSITION SUMMARY

Instructor Aquatics, working as part of the Aquatics team, will deliver world-class customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment at the YMCA. The individual will be responsible for providing a safe swim instruction for participants. The incumbent will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Always maintain pool safety during swimming lessons; deliver lessons that provide students the best opportunity to acquire skills for their level
• Educate participants on pool rules and enforce rules as required
• Remain current on all CPR, First Aid and other safety certification training
• Report all accidents and incidents to your supervisor immediately using proper forms
• Be visible to members at all times-work towards branch membership retention goals
• Keep daily attendance records and complete level skill sheets
• Be in the water 50-100% of class time
• Communicate with all participants/parents if class is being cancelled and/or rescheduled
• Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA annual support campaign, and general procedures and policies, including personnel guidelines, facility access procedures, membership policies, and emergency plans
