General Function

The Swim Instructor provides leadership, instruction, and motivation for students in swimming classes.

Education, Experience, Certifications

• High school education or equivalent (16+ years old)
• CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen certifications
• Current YMCA Swim Instructor certification or training provided

Bonus: $300 Signing Bonus!

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Instructs swimming lessons and prepares lesson plans according to YMCA standards
• Builds relationships with parents and students, informing them of progress and programs
• Maintains records, attends meetings and trainings, and performs other duties as assigned

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to instruct and observe proper stroke techniques
• Ability to lift equipment and small to medium-sized children
