RockBridge Search is seeking a Senior Vice President, LA Market Lead to drive relationship banking excellence in Los Angeles. This leader will mentor bankers, identify growth opportunities, and deliver comprehensive financial solutions to sophisticated clients.
The role emphasizes strategic market initiatives, cross-functional collaboration with Credit, Treasury Management, Private Banking, and Wealth teams, and strong emphasis on client engagement and risk discipline.
An outstanding opportunity is available for a seasoned Senior Vice President, LA Market Lead to take a highly visible leadership role within a relationship-driven banking organization serving the Los Angeles and Sherman Oaks markets. This position is designed for an accomplished banking professional who knows how to build business, cultivate lasting client relationships, develop talented bankers, and turn opportunities into meaningful, sustainable growth.
This is much more than a production role. The SVP, LA Market Lead will serve as a senior relationship banker, business developer, mentor, strategist, and market leader, helping guide a team while remaining actively engaged with clients and prospects. The right individual will bring strong commercial banking expertise, sound credit judgment, an established network, and the confidence to sit across the table from sophisticated business owners, executives, investors, and community leaders.
As SVP, LA Market Lead, you will have the opportunity to influence the direction, performance, and growth of the Los Angeles market while maintaining a meaningful presence in the business community. You will identify new business opportunities, expand existing relationships, deepen client engagement, and collaborate with internal partners to deliver thoughtful, comprehensive financial solutions.
You will also play an instrumental role in developing the bankers around you. This means coaching, challenging, supporting, and helping team members sharpen their business-development strategies, relationship-management skills, credit discipline, and overall banking expertise.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable winning new relationships, growing market share, and developing people. You understand that long-term banking success is built on trust, responsiveness, consistency, and knowing your clients' businesses well enough to anticipate their needs before they become requests.
Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a team of commercial banking professionals while fostering a culture centered around accountability, collaboration, client service, and business development.
Develop and execute strategic market initiatives designed to grow deposits, loans, fee income, treasury services, and overall relationship profitability.
Personally cultivate and expand a portfolio of high-value commercial banking relationships.
Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities through networking, referrals, centers of influence, community involvement, and established market connections.
Build trusted relationships with business owners, executives, CFOs, investors, and other key decision-makers throughout the Los Angeles market.
Conduct thoughtful discovery with clients to understand their businesses, financial objectives, challenges, and long-term goals.
Structure and recommend sophisticated commercial credit solutions while maintaining disciplined underwriting and risk-management standards.
Partner closely with Credit, Treasury Management, Private Banking, Wealth Management, Operations, and other internal teams to deliver comprehensive financial solutions.
Review relationship profitability, portfolio performance, pipeline activity, and overall team production.
Provide guidance on complex transactions, pricing, credit structure, risk considerations, and relationship strategy.
Participate in loan presentations, credit discussions, portfolio reviews, and senior-level decision-making processes.
Maintain strong knowledge of local market conditions, competitors, industries, economic trends, and emerging business opportunities.
Represent the organization professionally throughout the Los Angeles and surrounding business communities.
Encourage team members to develop their own centers of influence and establish themselves as trusted advisors within their respective markets.
Monitor portfolio quality and ensure relationships are managed in accordance with established credit, compliance, regulatory, and risk-management standards.
Establish meaningful goals and expectations for the team and hold team members accountable for achieving results.
Lead by example through professionalism, integrity, responsiveness, and a genuine commitment to client relationships.
Contribute to strategic planning, market expansion, and broader business-development initiatives.
Serve as a senior resource for complex client situations and help remove obstacles that may stand between the team and a successful client outcome.
Significant commercial banking experience with a demonstrated history of business development, relationship management, and portfolio growth.
Previous leadership, team-lead, sales-management, or mentoring experience within a banking environment.
An established network of commercial clients and centers of influence throughout the Los Angeles market.
Strong understanding of commercial lending, credit, deposits, treasury management, and relationship profitability.
Demonstrated ability to generate new business while retaining and expanding existing relationships.
Strong financial acumen and the ability to understand complex business structures and financial statements.
Excellent credit judgment and the ability to balance growth opportunities with prudent risk management.
Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to lead through influence, develop talent, and create accountability without losing the human side of leadership.
High level of professionalism and discretion when working with sophisticated clients and sensitive financial information.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred.
This role calls for someone who can open doors, build bridges, grow markets, and lead from the front. You should be entrepreneurial enough to chase an opportunity, disciplined enough to manage risk, and collaborative enough to bring the right people to the table.
The strongest candidates will be confident without being overbearing, competitive without losing sight of relationships, and strategic without getting buried in the weeds. You know how to walk into a room, earn credibility, ask the right questions, and turn a conversation into a lasting business relationship.
You are a natural leader who enjoys seeing others succeed, understands the importance of developing talent, and knows that a successful market is built through both individual production and collective performance.
If you are ready to take your banking career into a senior leadership position where your relationships, leadership, market knowledge, business-development abilities, and vision can shape an entire market, this is an opportunity to make a substantial impact.
