Wayland School of Music in Wayland is seeking a seasoned Suzuki teacher to join our private lessons program, teaching violin and piano to a mix of Suzuki and traditional students. The role emphasizes teamwork and preparing students for recitals and community performances.
Ideal candidates are Suzuki registered through Book 2 or higher with 8–10 years of professional teaching experience, strong performance credentials, enthusiasm, and a collaborative, flexible approach to growth.
Wayland School of Music is a thriving school with high local visibility and a reputation for excellence, in a town that values music education. Enrollment grows from Early Childhood feeder classes, local endorsements, word-of-mouth and consistent marketing.
We offer Suzuki violin, viola, cello, flute, piano and guitar. We serve about 250 families, including 70 – 80 Suzuki families. Parent training and observation are required for new families. There is no other full Suzuki program nearby.
Current, 2024-25 (but there will be a small increase in Sept ’25, as usual): Private lessons $59/hr; chamber music 64.50/hr; group classes $70.25/hr. We reimburse 50% for further Suzuki training. Attendance/makeup policies emphasize respect for teachers’ time and professionalism, and are firmly upheld.
