Job summary

Whitinsville Christian School seeks an experienced part-time Suzuki cello instructor to join a collaborative Suzuki community teaching students from PreK through 12th grade. The WCS Suzuki Program was established 44 years ago and encompasses three string instruments with over 65 students.

The ideal candidate will teach weekly private lessons after school hours, including a Thursday afternoon group class, and prepare students for yearly recitals, seasonal concerts, and other community

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in Music Education or Music Performance.
• Minimum 3 years professional teaching experience.
• Suzuki training registered through at least book 2, with intention to go further.
• Performance credits that demonstrate professional-level performing competence.

Responsibilities

• Teach weekly private lessons for after school hours.
• Include a Thursday afternoon group class.
• Prepare students for yearly recitals, seasonal concerts, and community performances.
• Meet regularly with Suzuki faculty for group classes, semester group recitals, seasonal concerts, and special events.
• Attend annual start of school faculty meeting.

Whitinsville Christian School seeks an experienced part-time Suzuki cello instructor to join a collaborative and vibrant Suzuki community teaching students ages PreK-grade 12. The WCS Suzuki Program was established 44 years ago, and encompasses three string instruments (violin, viola, and cello) with over 65 students. WCS Strings teachers are part-time hourly employees as well as faculty of WCS. All teachers are considered for their Christian faith, musical training, and teaching ability. The ideal candidate will teach weekly private lessons for after school hours, including a Thursday afternoon group class, and prepare students for yearly recitals, seasonal concerts, and other community performances. Start date: Summer or fall 2025

Duties:

The ideal candidate will teach weekly private lessons for after school hours, including a Thursday afternoon group class, and prepare students for yearly recitals, seasonal concerts, and other community performances.

Other duties include: Meet regularly with Suzuki faculty and collaborate for group classes, semester group recitals, seasonal concerts, and special events, and attend annual start of school faculty meeting.
