Job summary

Wayland School of Music is seeking a highly-qualified instructor to take over a combined Suzuki/traditional studio on Saturdays for fall 2026. The school, with a reputation for excellence, values music education and grows through referrals and community networks.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or Music Performance and 8–10 years of professional teaching. Suzuki training through book 2 is required, with intention to advance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Music Education or Music Performance.
• 8–10 years of professional teaching experience.
• Suzuki training through book 2, with intention to go further.
• Ability to teach both traditional and Suzuki approaches; some students attend both.
• Viola ability is a definite plus.
• Ability to be part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Teach weekly private lessons (Suzuki and traditional) to preschool to high school ages.
• Teach weekly Suzuki group classes.
• Prepare students for twice-yearly recitals and other community performances.
