Job summary

The Music Settlement seeks part-time Suzuki Instructors in Piano and Strings. Since 1912, TMS has been open to everyone wanting to learn, create, celebrate, and heal with music, serving more than 9,000 members of the Greater Cleveland community each year.

Join a supportive faculty at TMS University Circle and Ohio City Campuses, with afternoon and evening hours for individual lessons and Tuesday evenings for group Suzuki classes, starting August 31, 2026.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in music required; Master's preferred.
• At least one year of teaching experience required.
• Registered Suzuki training through Book 3 preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality Suzuki instruction to students of all ages and skill levels
• Customize teaching approaches to accommodate diverse learning styles and goals
• Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, administrative staff, and colleagues
• Participate in faculty meetings, student recitals, and occasional community engagement activities
• Maintain accurate student attendance records and uphold administrative expectations regarding scheduling and billing
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment
• Maintain on-site availability for afternoon and evening hours for individual lessons, and Tuesday evenings for Suzuki group classes
