Job summary

The Music Settlement seeks part-time Private Lesson Instructors in Piano, Strings, Voice, Brass, Woodwinds, and Percussion. Since 1912, TMS has been open to everyone wanting to learn, create, celebrate, and heal with music, serving more than 9,000 members of the Greater Cleveland community each year.

Location: TMS University Circle and Ohio City Campuses. Start Date: August 31, 2026. Hourly pay ranges from $40.00 to $46.66 and is based on education and experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in music or related field required.
• At least one year of teaching experience required; community music school experience preferred.
• Master's or equivalent professional experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality music instruction to students of all ages and skill levels.
• Customize teaching approaches to accommodate diverse learning styles and goals.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, administrative staff, and colleagues.
• Participate in faculty meetings, student recitals, and occasional community engagement activities.
• Maintain accurate student attendance records and uphold administrative expectations regarding scheduling and billing.
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment.
• Maintain on-site availability for afternoon and evening hours.
