Job summary

Settlement Music School is seeking a dedicated cello teacher to join our Suzuki Tapestry Strings. Teaching is scheduled mainly in the afternoon, evenings, and Saturdays, with 10–20 hours per week depending on availability.

We provide registration support, scheduling, financial aid, accompanists for recitals, and ongoing professional development opportunities. A Bachelor’s or Master’s in cello-focused music education is preferred, with 3–5 years of teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in cello-focused music education or performance.
• 3–5 years teaching experience, including young children.
• Commitment to Suzuki pedagogy and program development.

Responsibilities

• Enroll in certification programs if needed and progress through Suzuki levels.
• Foster a positive learning environment and build rapport with families.
• Attend Annual Faculty Meeting (paid) and Monthly Tapestry Faculty Meetings (paid).
• Support the Settlement mission and promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
