Job summary

Collectors is seeking a Sustainment Engineer / Tooling Engineer II to join our Operations Engineering team in Santa Ana, CA. You will maintain our fleet of injection molding tool sets, support supplier quality, and act as a technical SME for internal stakeholders across brands.

You’ll collaborate with Quality, Purchasing, CI, and Manufacturing to hit targets, with onsite work 5 days a week at the Santa Ana office and up to 10% travel to vendors and Collectors locations.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 2+ years in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering.
• Direct experience with design, maintenance, and material selection of injection molded components and tooling.
• Hands-on ultrasonic welding experience preferred.
• SolidWorks or CAD proficiency; injection mold tool design desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee sustainment and optimization of a high-volume global fleet of injection mold tooling.
• Lead technical support for design, fabrication, and qualification of replacement tooling.
• Conduct deep-dive root cause investigations for production bottlenecks and supplier quality deviations.
• Publish and maintain SOPs to ensure process standardization across sustainment lifecycle.
• Design and implement internal workflows to sustain physical assets.
