Job summary

Scotiabank Global Banking and Markets in the US seeks a Manager, Sustainment & Control within GTB US Cash Management Operations to support execution, sustainment and continuous improvement of controls and system usage.

The role ensures compliance with regulations and internal policies, drives risk management, and embeds sustainable processes into daily operations while collaborating with stakeholders and developing the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in Transaction Banking Operations or Cash Management.
• Strong understanding of deposit products and back-office processes.
• Solid knowledge of operational risk management and controls.
• Proficient with MS Office; experience with process mapping and reporting.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a customer-focused culture within the team and builds internal partnerships.
• Executes sustainment and change initiatives, including process improvements and controls uplift.
• Supports planning and delivery through analysis, requirements, UAT, and documentation.
• Leads development and execution of roadmaps with defined scope and milestones.
• Manages risks, dependencies, and gaps to protect delivery timelines.
• Designs and maintains operational controls to mitigate risk.
• Identifies automation opportunities to streamline workflows.
• Maintains QA frameworks, standards, and validation checkpoints.
• Develops procedures, user guides, and training materials.
• Tracks KPIs/KRIs and escalates issues as needed.
• Ensures processes are embedded in daily operations.
• Communicates effectively with stakeholders.
• Coaches and develops direct reports.
• Maintains knowledge of GTB products, systems, and processes.
• Adheres to risk appetite and conduct requirements.
• Fosters an inclusive, high-performance team culture.
• Other duties as assigned.
