Tutor Intelligence is seeking a Sustaining Engineering Manager to own the shipping robots as engineering products—hardware and software—across the fleet. You will lead root-cause investigations, design fixes, prove them, and roll them out safely while building instrumentation and tools for early problem detection.

You’ll manage hardware and software engineers, communicate with customers, and drive reliability for deployed robotics across customer sites nationwide.

Formación

• Sustained a shipping electromechanical product: owned changes to it after launch and lived with the consequences.
• Understand the whole machine: mechanics, electronics, firmware, and software to identify failures.
• Managed engineers and ran a change process without turning it into paperwork.
• Comfortable talking to a customer whose equipment is down.
• When something breaks twice, you change the thing that allowed it to break.

Responsabilidades

• Own the shipping product: hardware and software changes to robots in the field, from root cause through release.
• Run root cause to closure: decide what to measure, find the cause, prove the fix, and ensure the failure cannot recur.
• Build the instrumentation: add data to explain a failure on the robots.
• Ship changes safely: qualify fixes and roll them out to a fleet in production.
• Run the team: hire and manage engineers across hardware and software, and work with field support engineers.
• Face customers: be the engineer the customer talks to when something is wrong and explain what changed.
