Job summary

The Regents of the University of California on behalf of their Los Angeles Campus seeks an Engineering Specialist to provide construction engineering and design for campus plumbing and building systems in a major capital program office. You will develop standards, assess projects, and review designs with emphasis on conservation and sustainable practice.

You will serve as a technical resource, review budgets and construction estimates, and certify designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering plus related experience or equivalent.
• Experience applying plumbing construction methods and retrofits.
• Knowledge of sustainable design practices and energy management.
• Familiarity with Cal/OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to analyze budgets and prioritize projects.
• Experience reviewing plumbing layouts and designs.

Responsibilities

• Provide construction engineering and design services for campus plumbing and building systems.
• Develop and review engineering sketches to guide bidding and construction.
• Assess projects, review estimates, and certify designs and drawings.
• Serve as technical advisor for infrastructure projects and building management systems.
• Evaluate project outcomes through analyses and field assessments.
