  • Oversee Reverse Vending Machine infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with partner departments to deliver excellent customer service.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

This position will support recycling and waste diversion initiatives through program management, education and outreach, and fieldwork

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Tracking and reporting on waste diversion statistics;
  • Overseeing education and outreach initiatives through in-person (tabling) and web-based platforms (website, social media, digital content);
  • Managing special events, such as Move-in, Green Goodbyes, Green Tailgating, and Hard to Recycle Week;
  • Supporting Recycling Supervisor by monitoring work orders, assisting with fleet management, and spot-checking recycling routes as needed.
  • Managing the recycling@gsu.edu e-mail inbox and responding to recycling queries from campus clients.
  • Overseeing the Reverse Vending Machine infrastructure.
  • Liaising with partner departments and "clients" to foster collaboration and provide excellent customer service.
  • Growing the program through a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Hiring Requirements:
  • Previous experience with recycling and waste diversion or general sustainability topics; ability to work 50% of the time in the field and 50% of the time in an office setting; strong writing and communication skills; self-directed. Strong customer service.
