Job summary

Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) seeks a Sustainability and Public Health Engineer to integrate sustainability and public health into MnDOT’s project development process. The role collaborates with agency staff and technical experts to identify needs, conduct assessments, develop guidance, and support implementation of state and federal requirements.

Qualifications

• Professional engineer license (AELSLAGID) required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Engineer Senior or equivalent with sustainable transportation experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead processes to incorporate sustainability and public health into MnDOT engineering standards, manuals, regulations, and guidance.
• Facilitate decision-making with technical partners to identify needs, set targets, document approaches, deliver training, and evaluate progress.
• Develop and review engineering plans and related tools to reflect climate science, goals, statutes, and standards.
• Monitor trends to identify process improvements and inform agency decisions.
