Job summary

MnDOT seeks a Sustainability and Public Health Engineer to integrate climate action and equitable transportation into MnDOT’s project development. You will work with staff and experts to identify needs, assess and research, and develop guidance and training, supporting state and federal requirements.

Key responsibilities include updating standards and policies, facilitating partner decisions, and drafting plans and tools aligned with climate science and agency goals.

Qualifications

• PE licensure; Minnesota or comity acceptance required.
• 3+ years as Engineer Senior or equivalent in transportation.
• Experience drafting or updating sustainable transportation standards.

Responsibilities

• Incorporate sustainability and public health into MnDOT standards and guidance.
• Lead decisions with technical partners; document approaches and train staff.
• Develop plans and tools reflecting climate science and agency goals.
• Monitor trends; identify process improvements for decisions.
