Overview

We are seeking a Sushi Server for our Sora Sushi Bar at Parkwest Bicycle Casino. Sora offers a unique dining experience that combines traditional sushi with contemporary hand rolls.

We are looking for energetic, customer-focused individuals to join our team as servers. Our servers are essential in creating a welcoming and efficient dining environment, ensuring guests enjoy our high-quality sushi and hand rolls. We are committed to providing an exceptional dining experience with fresh ingredients, meticulous preparation, and a lively atmosphere.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure guests have a pleasant dining experience by efficiently delivering dishes, providing excellent service, and maintaining cleanliness.
2. Greet and welcome guests professionally and warmly.
3. Deeply understand the sushi menu, including types of sushi, ingredients, and accompaniments.
4. Explain the restaurant's unique dining concept, emphasizing fresh hand rolls and sushi offerings.
5. Be knowledgeable about sushi ingredients, including fish, rice, seaweed, and condiments like wasabi, soy sauce, and pickled ginger.
6. Have knowledge of traditional Japanese beverages, especially sake, and be able to suggest pairings; experience in sake service is a plus.
7. Assist customers with allergies or dietary preferences, guiding them through menu options.
8. Accurately take and relay orders, noting special requests or dietary restrictions.
9. Serve dishes attractively and in a timely manner.
10. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to assist colleagues.
• Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
• RBS Certification (Responsible Beverage Service).
• California Food Handler Card.
• Minimum age of 21 years.

Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.

Experience: 3-5 years in Japanese or sushi-focused restaurant settings, with knowledge of sushi types and etiquette.

Physical and mental requirements:

• Lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Perform essential duties with or without accommodations.

Compensation

USD $17.00 per hour, both minimum and maximum.
