Overview

We are seeking a Sushi Server for our Sora Sushi Bar at Parkwest Bicycle Casino. Sora offers a unique dining experience combining traditional sushi with contemporary hand rolls.

We seek energetic, customer-focused individuals to join our team as servers. Our servers are essential in creating a welcoming, efficient dining environment, ensuring guests enjoy our high-quality sushi and hand rolls. We are dedicated to providing an exceptional dining experience with meticulous preparation in a vibrant, fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure guests have a pleasant dining experience by efficiently serving sushi and other menu items, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining cleanliness and organization.
2. Greet and welcome guests with a friendly, professional demeanor.
3. Understand the sushi menu thoroughly, including types of sushi, ingredients, preparation methods, and accompaniments.
4. Explain the restaurant’s unique dining concept, emphasizing fresh hand rolls and sushi.
5. Be knowledgeable about sushi ingredients, including fish, rice, seaweed, and condiments like wasabi, soy sauce, and pickled ginger.
6. Possess knowledge of traditional Japanese beverages, especially sake, and be able to suggest pairings; experience in recommending or serving sake is a plus.
7. Assist customers with allergies or dietary preferences, guiding them through suitable menu options.
8. Accurately take and relay orders, noting any special requests or dietary restrictions.
9. Serve dishes attractively and promptly.
10. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Team player willing to assist colleagues and foster a positive work environment.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
• RBS Certification (Responsible Beverage Service).
• California Food Handler Card.
• Minimum age of 21 years.

Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.

Experience: 3-5 years in restaurants, especially those focusing on sushi or Japanese cuisine, with knowledge of Japanese dining customs and sushi types.

Physical and mental requirements:

• Lift and carry tools, supplies, and inventory up to 25 pounds.
• Perform all duties with or without accommodations.
