About the Role

We are seeking a Sushi Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will anticipate and address the needs of the company and client partners with a focus on order fulfillment, quality control, presentation, plating, and delivering high‑end final products while maintaining rigorous hygiene and safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and specialty items according to recipes and standards.
  • Maintain the highest level of food quality, consistency, and presentation.
  • Cook and season rice to the proper texture and flavor.
  • Slice fish and prepare ingredients while ensuring freshness and proper storage.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized workstation.
  • Assist in receiving, labeling, and storing daily deliveries of fresh ingredients.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or restock needs to management.
  • Ensure proper knife handling and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to support smooth and efficient service.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items, specials, and preparation techniques.
  • Uphold company standards for customer satisfaction and overall dining experience.

Job Requirements
  • DOH Food Handler’s license preferred.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, and holidays as required.
  • Capability to maintain a stationary position, often standing for prolonged periods in varying temperature conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; ability to repeatedly lift 25 lbs.
  • Availability to work a schedule from 4 am‑1:30 pm, Monday‑Friday.
