Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets in Amherst, NY is seeking a motivated sushi prep team member to assist in preparing fresh sushi, nigiri and rolls while delivering outstanding customer service.

You will learn traditional techniques from experienced sushi chefs in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting, handling ingredients, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring food safety. This full-time role requires early to late shifts, including some weekends.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of kitchen experience, preferably in a sushi or Japanese restaurant.
• Basic knife skills and familiarity with sushi products.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a culinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients, including slicing fish, cutting vegetables, and making sushi rice.
