Job summary

Bamboo Sushi - Kirkland is seeking a Sous Chef for our Kirkland location at 128 Lake St, Kirkland, WA 98033. You will supervise back-of-house operations and support the Chef team to deliver high-quality sushi and hospitality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of related culinary experience in a high-volume, full-service kitchen.
• At least 6 months of supervisory or management experience leading a BOH team.
• Sushi experience preferred with knowledge of sushi products, fish breakdown, knife cuts, and production of rice, roles, and nigiri.
• Valid Food Handlers Card required.
• Ability to lead, think critically, and exercise independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate BOH operations with the Chef team.
• Maintain a culture of positivity and accountability.
• Act as Manager on Duty in absence of Executive Chef and Sous Chef and manage schedules.
• Ensure opening/closing duties are completed.
• Maintain high standards for safe and hospitable guest experiences.
• Manage inventory, ordering, and quality control.
• Provide training to new hires and current team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation following sanitation standards.
• Follow company policies and food safety regulations.
