Momiji Inc. in Salem, OR is seeking a Cook to support Sushi Chefs and Kitchen Staff. You will prepare ingredients, follow recipes, garnish and present dishes, and help with labeling and stocking to keep the kitchen running smoothly.

You should be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, work with the team, maintain cleanliness and safety, and contribute to a positive, welcoming dining experience for our guests.

Qualifications

• Capable of operating prep cook, tempura, primary and secondary cook stations.

Responsibilities

• Operates in the kitchen/back of the house to prepare food per specs.
• Parboils food, reduces sauces and starts first steps in dishes.
• Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh and complete.
• Follow recipes with accurate measuring and mixing.
• Cook via bakes, grills, steam, boil, fry and chop ingredients.
• Present and garnish final dishes for attractive presentation.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Stock, order, and purchase ingredients as needed under Head Sushi Chef.
• Communicate equipment issues to Head Sushi Chef.
• Handle and store diverse ingredients properly.
• Maintain sanitation standards and comply with regulations.
• Complete prep tasks as per the prep list.
• Label and stock ingredients for easy access.
