Job summary

The Rosewood Miramar Beach in Montecito, CA is seeking a Sushi Cook II to join our luxury kitchen team. You will prep, set up, and prepare sushi items across kaiseki style offerings, nigiri, sashimi, and roll presentations, ensuring quality and plating standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining sanitation, following recipes, coordinating with the Kitchen Supervisor, and supporting room service amenities as required. Previous sushi-cook experience in a high-end property is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Some College or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Must have current and valid Food Handler’s card.
• Minimum one year’s experience as a Sushi Cook in a Japanese restaurant.
• Hotel operational exposure preferred.
• Experience with a luxury or ultra-luxury property or brand preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up sushi prep stations and assist in menu production.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas.
• Prepare nigiri, sashimi, and other sushi items per recipes and standards.
• Work with Kitchen Supervisor to review assignments and forecasts.
• Assist Room Service amenity orders and ensure quality presentation.
