Job summary

Hy-Vee in Grand Island, Nebraska seeks a Sushi Clerk to support the Hy-Chi department. You will assist customers, prepare fresh sushi items, and ensure cleanliness and safety standards are followed in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include taking orders, restocking, coordinating with team members, and upholding Hy-Vee policies. Daytime shifts may apply; prior food safety certification is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Food Safety Certification required.
• Six months or more of similar or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and learning their names.
• Take customer orders at the counter and over the phone, assist with finding products, and carry heavy purchases.
• Review daily orders and monitor product freshness, appearance, and supply levels.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish product as needed and label items accurately.
• Follow sanitation procedures and keep work area clean and organized.
• Check in product, store properly, and manage waste promptly.
• Anticipate daily product needs and maintain production lists.
• Order product and supplies as necessary.
• Work with teammates to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Adhere to Hy-Vee dress code, hygiene standards, and company policies.
