Job summary

Workstream in Durham, NC, is seeking a skilled sushi chef to prepare sushi and sashimi per company recipes and engage guests with an entertaining personality. You will follow guidance from the Senior Sushi Chef and maintain a clean, sanitary workstation in a fast-paced environment.

Open to training for apt candidates, with compensation influenced by experience. Open evenings with no late nights; 18% gratuity applies on parties of six or more. Immediate hire.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to craft sushi and sashimi according to recipes.
• Strong guest interaction and entertaining personality.
• Knowledge of food safety and NC sanitation laws.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sushi and sashimi per company recipes.
• Greet and engage sushi guests with a welcoming attitude.
• Follow directions from the Senior Sushi Chef.
• Clean and prep fish and maintain a tidy workstation.
• Maintain compliance with North Carolina sanitation laws.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to make Sushi and Sashimi dishes according to company recipes
• Must have a great entertaining personality to meet, greet and chat with sushi guests
• Must be able to follow instructions from our Senior Chief Sushi Chef
• Must be able to clean fish from whole
• Must keep working area in a clean, neat and organized manner
• Must follow all North Carolina Sanitation laws
• Being Serv Safe Certified would be a Plus
• Must have knowledge Japanese Culture and Sushi Origins
• Must be creative in Sushi presentation
• Hourly salary can be negotiated for a candidate with more than 6 years of sushi making experience.
• Open until 9:00 pm Weekdays and 9:30 Weekends. No Late Nights
• 18% Gratuity automatically included on Parties of 6 or more
• We are willing to train if you have the aptitude
